TARNIK winning the 1977 Arab Horse Society Marathon held over the 26½ mile course on Salisbury Plain in a time of 1 hr. 36mins 49.5 secs. Part-bred Tarnik (left) was owned by Mr.and Mrs.Sutcliffe 
and bred at Poland's Janow Podlaski Stud

He was trained and ridden by Patrick Kempe of the Winaway Stud, Withypool on Exmoor. 

 

TARNIK in bionic, good athletic form with pilot Patrick on board at the R.A.Hunter Trials 1977 two weeks after the AHS Marathon. Qualified Abbey Life Hunter Trial Final. Placed in all of his eight Hunter Trials.
