Life was generally peaceful in the Native American Indian pueblo of Blackfeet Lodge | The women were as usual making clothes | Something suspicious was going on - something dangerous |
A large Wriggly Rattle snake was spotted in the camp | Little Miss Chief was dancing round the Wriggly Snake - very bad, very dangerous | A drum was sounded to rally the troops by the Chief of the Blackfeet Lodge |
...along galloped Big Chief Lou zy Shott | He could see that Little Miss Chief was in mortal danger | What to do now? |
He is not very good at killing dangerous Wriggly Rattle Snakes | Lou zy Shott summons his spear | Little Miss Chief bows as she knows what might happen to her new playmate the Wriggly Snake |
First he must practice with the spear, and then he's ready | Chief of the Blackfoot shouts 'look out, stand back' and Little Miss Chief jumps out of the way | Galloping furiously, the spear is launched, but oh dear Lou zy Shott has missed the Wriggly Snake |
The snake is still wriggling. What does he do now? | With his thinking cap on, he has forward thinking, lateral thinking and some backward thinking | Ah yes, bring the bow and arrow |
After much firing of arrows, the Wriggly Snake must be dead but oh no, Lou zy Shott has missed again! | He tries with his smoking gun, firing as hard as he can. shot after shot. He must surely have killed the snake now but oh dear no. Lou zy Shott has missed the snake again. | So it now up to his Medicine Horse to save us all |
The drums roll once more | Medicine Horse, Tetuã, gallops right up to the Wriggly Snake. The Wriggly Snake is killed by sheer shock. Not a blow was laid on his head. Little Miss Chief bursts into tears at the death of her new wriggly friend. | She pleads with Big Chief to let Medicine Horse bring her Wriggly Snake back to life and make it a nice, friendly snake. |
.... and so with a kiss from Medicine Horse, Wriggly Snake is held aloft and presented to the Spirit of the Four Winds | The limp, dead snake soon begins to wriggle .... and wriggle .... and wriggle | .... it has clearly come back to life and wriggles into the arms of Little Miss Chief |
who rushes off to show everyone her Wriggly Snake |
Celebrations are held in the camp | ... and after much cavorting around |
.... and drumming | the family gathers for a Prayer of Peace. Smoking no longer allowed! | .... and they all live happily ever after. THE END. |
