Suzanne took this picture.
It's one of my favourite photographs.

View from the Saddle

Such was my thought as I gazed deep into the Forest this Autumnal morning sitting astride Tetuã, one such Pure-bred Lusitano, whose breeding goes back for very many generations.

View out of the Saddle

The Lusitano is the oldest saddle horse in the world.
Historians claim that about 4000BC people used these horses for hunting, work and war.
The bracken was almost as tall as he was.

Fabulous colours of Autumn

and an ever changing scenery

coupled with Evening Sun
The freedom of the open Forest moorland
makes us feel very much at home.

..... a super horse

a moment's pause.

It's all great fun
Each day he learns to balance himself over rough ground, putting up with ponies and donkeys peeping round the gorse bushes.
Popping over small ditches and clambering over difficult places.
Eyeing up the odd cow to round up!!

and when the day is done .....
Back home in time for tea!
When there's a good race on, you've just got to come in and watch it on the TV.

...... let's watch the Racing on the Tele!
