A moment of hilarity. Tetuã peacefully grazing in the field. Went into his field to speak to visitors over the gate. After a few minutes, I hear him neigh. I respond with ‘Hi Tetuã, I see you there’ I carry on talking to visitors. Another neigh, closer this time. I then feel a tug on my jacket. I continue talking with my back to him. I am aware he is going through his foot holding out routine. First one foot then the other, followed by neck stretches and head waving. I ignore him at this stage. Another tug on my coat followed by several pretend attacks, which do together when ‘play fighting’. Enough is enough, he insists on wanting to show off his routine to the visitors, which we did together and when I asked he finished off with one of his best ‘stand ups’ on his hind legs he has ever done for me. Not bad at nearly 19 I thought to myself. After that he went off to resume grazing. Such is the character of the Lusitano!! I wish I had the video camera with me.
